As someone who brings children into the Residence regularly through my Free-Range Kids program, this place holds a special spot for me. The setting is lovely, the staff is warm, and it's clear that residents are well cared for and genuinely engaged in life.
What stands out most is the spirit of community collaboration — the openness to let something meaningful happen between generations. Whether it's coloring together or reading stories, these visits matter. For the kids, it's a chance to connect with people outside their usual world. For the residents, a little spark of joy. That kind of exchange is rare, and this community makes it possible.
I’ve had the privilege of running an intergenerational music class here for the past year, and the team has been nothing but supportive, thoughtful, and open to trying new ideas. You can feel how deeply they care about creating meaningful experiences for their residents - they consistently advocate for what will bring joy, connection, and real engagement to the people who call this community home. A warm, resident-first place with genuinely thoughtful leadership and staff.
My parents joined the community three years ago and we are so grateful. They were 93 and 95 at the time, and leaving a family home from out of state. It’s a vibrant community, . The staff are compassionate and kind and supported by vigilant administrators and they are enriched by active community and an engagement staff that truly looks to find shared interests and builds programming around that. A elderly couple poses a challenge, as their needs are different. The nursing, building staff, aides, and an entire community of friends have been very supportive in helping them to meet their primary stated goal “ to be together”. We can speak to all living options as we have progressed through all, the independent, assisted, and memory care. This is private pay and costly - you are choosing a quality of life option, and one must recognize that they provide very limited medical support, but we are very happy that our parents (grandparents -great grandparents) have found a true home here !
My mom lives in the memory care unit which is absolute wonderful to her! The staff is caring and kind and her personal care and room are well taken care of. She lived in independent living and moved over about a year ago and I was very nervous since it’s a hard step. I am very pleased, if you are going through this this home is wonderful.
Every time I go by to visit I'm always greeted with a huge smile and a welcoming hello! The staff keeps the building sparkling clean! The place looks great inside and outside! The level of care that I see for the residents is second to none.

My mom has late-stage dementia and still knows us but past that she really needs at lot of help in her daily routine as most with family members at this stage in their life know
Every time we show up unannounced, she looks great her room is spotless and she is engaged and always happy
All the helpers and nurses know her by name and are very respectful
I have seen other places and visited many prior to deciding on Melrose Station and I can honestly say it makes us comfortable that she is there and happy
If you are looking for a great place for a loved one who needs to be treated with dignity and respect and you know you can feel confident that they are happy I fully recommend Melrose Station and there staff

In the summertime they have a garden that they can do out on the deck. They have exercise classes and they have a happy hour every day at 4:00. There was nothing really negative about it. The staff is all very pleasant and very caring. They have a hair salon and they have a workout area that's like a gym.

My grandmother moved in back in September 2023 and we love it here. The staff is absolutely incredible. When she needed rehab, the nurses jumped through hoops to advocate for her-helped with securing resources she needed to come home. I was very thankful to all the staff members who helped us after she had surgery. The dining staff remember her preferences and greet us everyday with a smile. I eat with her at least 5x a week because I enjoy seeing her everyday, and I can attest to the quality of the food. The food is very good with extensive options. The location is also very convenient for a caregiver - proximity to Shaw’s, hospital and library, makes my life easier when I need to help her. 5/5 stars.

From our very first tour we knew that The Residence at Melrose Station was a special place. The leadership team and staff made us feel welcome from the very beginning.
The staff has done an excellent job making our mom feel at home. They check in with her often to make sure she is doing okay and acclimating to her new home. There is a very positive atmosphere and the staff is kind, caring and compassionate. My mom looks forward to the daily activities sheet that comes out each morning - her favorite is the happy hour! It gives our family great peace of mind that she is happy in her new home, and is safe and well taken care of.

My mom recently moved to The Residence at Melrose Station. She was initially apprehensive about moving to a senior community, but has had nothing but positive experiences since moving to Melrose Station. The staff is knowledgeable, attentive, and caring, and has gone above and beyond to make our mom feel at home. There’s a very positive vibe in the community - residents seem happy and mom has made many new friends! Our family is relieved she is safe and well taken care of and most importantly, she’s happy! Plus, the food is great! We couldn’t be more pleased about our decision to move my mother to The Residence at Melrose Station.
the great party function held on the 5th floor on June 14th was a first class event. The table decorations , the food was top shelf , the music provided just great , the service by staff was super.

We moved my Mom intro the Residence in February. The staff at the Residence did an outstanding job making a tough change of life for my Mom, a smooth and happy experience. We worked closely with Kathryn, Steven and Susan and they all gave us peace of mind that my Mom would be in an environment that cares about her. It always amazes me that all of the staff knows every resident’s name, and always greet them as they walk around the building. The environment is warm, friendly and inviting. The facility is beautiful, the dining options are great and there are a variety of fun activities for the residents to participate in. We are very happy that we chose The Residence at Melrose Station for my Mom.
As a vendor of The Residence at Melrose Station I get to see first hand how well the facility is managed. The place is kept impeccably clean and well maintained. The residents and staff are upbeat and friendly. The residents are genuinely happily and well taken care of. From the very first tour we knew this was the place for my Mom. The staff immediately made us feel comfortable and Welcome. The move into the Residence was so smooth because of the staffs attention and they welcomed Mom with warmth and understanding. The staffs knowledge calmed us on acclimation time. AND they were so right. Mom in a short time was thriving, full of excitement for new activities., and made friends very fast with the residents and staff.
It’s so wonderful to see my Mom so happy and our family enjoys visiting the beautiful facility, taking Mom out or staying in with her, and knowing she’s in a safe, vibrant community in the Residence at Melrose Station.

Moving from one apartment to another recently, I was greatly impressed by the professionalism, hard work, and careful attentiveness of the support personnel doing the moving. The people who work here can, most definitely, always be counted on.
Melrose Station is a fabulous place ! The building and grounds are kept in impeccable shape and staff members are always warm and professional. The food and activities are great and my Dad enjoys living here. Kudos to the staff 😀
The Residence at Melrose station is a warm and lovely building . The care staff is wonderful and the housekeeping staff really take care of the residents . I’m an RNCM. A couple of my clients live at Melrose Station. It is an incredible place! The staff are warm and welcoming. It is absolutely beautiful there. Lots of activities offered! Food is delicious! Everyone is so lovely-it’s like a large extended family! It is how Senior living should be! Such a special place!
I'm leaving this review in Hopes that it help someone to make their decision to choose The Residence at Melrose Station for your Loved one. Just a few shorts years ago my Aunt Barbara my Moms sister was diagnosed with early stages of Alziemers. She lived in a big house was very active after retiring and was driving up till like 6 months before, but sadly had gotten very forgetful to the point she was taking her medicine etc... she wanted our Help as she was worried something might happen as in leaving the stove on or something. It was not an easy decision for her to leave her house but she knew it was necessary one. We checked out many places in the area and realized there were some that might be a little lass expensive however upon visiting and talking with the staff and management Team, the wonderfull food and care the we experienced and witnessed we realized that this was the place. She Loved her new friends and all the many activities plus the fantastically prepared food. Unfortunately Covid came a long and deprived us on almost a year of time with her, but we can't say enough about how well she was treated while there. To sum it up she could not have been taken care of any better, she was well taken care of while maintaining her dignity.

The food is by far unlike most facilities it's fresh and the menu is rotated seasonally.

Forever indebted to the staff at The Residence in Melrose, they made a very difficult decision easier on our whole family, including my dad who swore he would never go to “one of those places! “
The faculty was so beautiful and clean and bright, the rooms were perfectly suited for the residents. Most importantly, we felt like family, we were close so we could come and go often and so could my dad. The proximity to downtown is brilliant.
Staff kept us informed and were caring at the most difficult times. We can’t express how deeply they helped us at a most difficult time.

When you enter this facility you can tell it has a great aura. Greetings from staff and residents come at you in every direction.
The gentleman I moved into The Residence at Melrose Station was very hesitant, old school and not open to this idea. It took a very short period of time for him to understand the advantages and pleasures of living in an assisted living community like this. Not to mention the people he met and friends he made while living there.
He could be a bit of a tough nut at times, but the staff was always very supportive of me and him. When I mention staff members, I mean everyone including reception, facilities manager, nursing and care staff. Being in the senior care field myself, it was refreshing to deal with such a flexible team.
Truly a great team and solid management. Each visit gives a lasting impression of cleanliness and focused healthcare.
This is a absolutely gorgeous independent Senior living complex!!! Extraordinarily clean, meticulous building!! I have the pleasure of doing business here, and can't say enough wonderful things about this location!! They go above and beyond to keep the residents living in a fabulous environment!!
My Dad has been at Melrose Station for three years and is very happy in their care. The facility is always clean and their Covid-19 protocols are first class.
The communications from their excellent staff is timely and informative. The holiday events are always a pleasure. And the food is great!

In visiting The Residence to view for elderly friend I was very impressed by the homey feeling of the building and the rooms. The staff members were not only accommodating but genuinely kind and compassionate towards the residents we encountered. I was also able to have a delicious lunch during my visit. I would highly recommend The Residence at Melrose.
By far, the most experienced staff I have ever encountered. From managers on down. Absolutely beauty facility. Cleanliness was superb and very apparent. Take a tour, well worth it. You will be in awe.
My husband and I are very pleased with the way The Residence at Melrose Station impressed us during our initial visit. The staff was very helpful, informative and concerned with the level of care the my Mother would be getting. We knew this was the right place for her. When the pandemic occurred, the staff was ahead of the virus in treatment, prevention and protocols. We could not see Mother, but we were kept informed constantly about the status of the care and attention she was receiving. Now we know that the Residence wasn’t just for each person living there but the families as well. The updates and care made us thankful she was there. Since Mother has been there the staff have all been kind, thoughtful and welcoming. They do cater to all of the needs of their residents We could not be happier having Mother there. In particular, Steve has gone out of his way to keep our Mother happy
From the moment I stepped into the parking lot I could see how meticulous the grounds were. Walking into the lobby my first impression was how beautifully decorated it was. Immaculate, warm and inviting are the words that come to mind. I have had the pleasure of touring the entire facility as a vendor of Melrose Station.

We can enjoy the well maintained gardens on the property from many locations, or stroll the quiet sidewalks to reach stores or public events. The cleanliness of the modern facility shines in the common areas and private units, with good natural daylight throughout. The residential aids are committed to making the residents’ life easier. It was clear to us that our mother was declining. We started looking at several care options for her. When her primary care giver passed away unexpectedly, finding a place became critical. We visited The Residence at Melrose Station and it was good. The first thing was the proximity; it is in the same town as I live in. Second thing was it is a new building. The only thing that was not the greatest was that it was a little bit pricey compared to others. The price is the only negative, but I think they do give discounts and stuff. I heard from the salespersons that they have a few, but overall I had a good experience there. The staff was helpful, and they seemed to interact well with the residents. The rooms were a little small for the price I'd have to say, but they were nice quality, just a little smaller.

My father is at The Residence at Melrose Station. They're excellent. He loves the food. He thinks he's in a five-star hotel, and he's very happy. We've been able to have outdoor visits from the beginning, and now we can do indoor visits, but we wear the full PPE. They've been very accommodating with everything and my dad seems to be very happy there. It's beautiful. It looks like you're walking into a five-star hotel. The activities stopped because of COVID because they couldn't have everybody intermingling, but now they have gone back to having activities. The activities looked really fantastic the first time I visited. They just started up again, and he seems to really like it. We're getting our money's worth.
Appreciated the Skype option. Also thank you for the Mother's Day flower delivery option. Staff was responsive to the questions and provided information to our care manager in a timely fashion.

My mother in law now resides here. Every time I visit, the staff is friendly and caring. It was a wonderful experience and I just had Mother’s Day brunch and the food was great. The dining room was beautiful with flower bouquets everywhere. Also, the special touches were impressive..everyone received a rose and they also had someone singing for entertainment!

The Residence at Melrose Station was extremely luxurious. It just opened and it's like a 5-star hotel. It was beautiful. It was on the pricier side, but when they first opened they were offering huge monthly discount rates for the rent. They've got a luxurious dining room and it was anytime dining all day long. The person who showed us around was wonderful and has followed up a few times. Parking was wonderful. They had a rooftop patio deck, outdoor decks, and areas where the residents can do vegetable planting. They have a happy hour every afternoon where they put out appetizers for all the residents and cocktails and what I tasted was very good.
The transition process for my mom to the Residences at Melrose Station has been wonderful. The staff, led by Jocelyn, was so informative, insightful and caring. In addition, the facilities are amazing.
My dad has been a resident in the Reflections community at the Residence at Melrose Station for nearly 2 years. In that time he has been loved and cared for in every way. The staff, from top executives to hands-on care providers, from nursing to dining services, from front desk to cleaning personnel, ALL know my dad and my family and treat us with welcome and respect. We have be so fortunate to know that we can trust the employees there to take good care of dad and to reassure us when decisions are difficult.
My Mom lives here and loves it. The staff is amazing. This is just like an upscale boutique hotel/Resort. Charles James, the Director, is a warm and welcoming man who is available to do whatever he can to make your loved one be happy at home. Take a tour and you will understand.
My Mom moved into The Residence on September 19, 2017, after living with my sister and her husband for five years (thank you Ann & David). Transition is challenging at any age, and this move was difficult for all of us. However, the staff at The Residence made my Mom’s transition to assisted living as smooth and as comfortable as it could be. This is a new way of life for my Mom, but she soon realized that there are numerous activities and events at The Residence to attend and enjoy with new friends. Mom enjoys going to the beautiful dining area to have her meals and to the daily afternoon social hour before dinner. She has her hair done on the incredible fifth floor, which also has a media room, activity room, gym, and roof deck. Mom gets a lot of exercise because she is able to walk around to get to wherever she wants to go. The Residence is a gorgeous living environment. Mom says The Residence reminds her of the Loews on Miami Beach and I agree. If you were blindfolded and brought to The Residence, I guarantee you would think you were in a high end boutique hotel. Recently, I took my friend Sandy to visit Mom and she was blown away by the beauty of and amenities offered at The Residence. There are numerous events scheduled during the day and special events for Holidays, all of which are great for residents and family.
Mr. Charles James, the Director, is a wonderful man who goes out of his way to know the residents and their families. He is excellent and great to discuss any concern you may have regarding your parent or loved one. Mom loves him too!
It is refreshing to watch seniors engaged with each other and involved in daily activities in a beautiful and safe environment. This is a great way of life for your parent, or loved one. The fact that my Mom tells me she is happy, well taken care of, and not to worry about her, especially given that I live one hour away, is of great comfort to me. More importantly, my Mom is happy and that is what matters most to me.
I encourage anyone who may be interested in assisted living to contact Mr. James and take a tour of The Residence-you will love it!

My family chose the Residence at Melrose Station for my mother because of the staff’s unique combination of imagination and commitment. It was very important to us that our mother be intellectually challenged as well as physically cared for. My mother adapted quickly, has found new friends and is enjoying the movies, games, and delicious meals with other residents. During our move-in week, any concerns we had were addressed quickly by the staff. Everyone here is upbeat and wonderful to work with, and this includes the nursing staff, aides, dining room staff, building supervisor, receptionists, and housekeepers. My mother also enjoys walks outdoors. A great feature of this place is its closeness (2 blocks away) to a lovely Main Street, with shops, a grocery store, a pharmacy, and a post office. Nearby there is a commuter train station—great location! In spring we will enjoy the nearby parks and lakes. For assisted living support in the Boston area, we couldn’t do better.

Once she knew what we needed she worked hard to get the best arrangements for us. The apartment we got is beautiful. We will always be thankful for her help. The Residence at Melrose Station is lovely. They give very good care, and the staff is very loving. My mother's room is wonderful. There are activities all day long for them. I recommend them highly. The food is very good, and the dining area is restaurant style. It's quite expensive.

I attended the grand opening of The Residence at Melrose Station. Even walking from the parking lot, I could tell that this was going to be a great experience. I mean, the community is in Historic Melrose! Upon entering the front door, I was greeted with nothing but friendliness and felt overwhelmingly welcomed. Anyone looking for an Assisted Living Community should definitely NOT make a decision until you visit The Residence at Melrose. The food service compares to dining at any of the city’s finest restaurants. The facility is one of the most upscale communities, with luxury at every turn. The view for the upstairs patio is a million-dollar view.
My mother decided to move into The Residence at Melrose Station when it opened in August of 2017 and it was the best decision for her and for our family!
A longtime resident of Melrose, over 50 years, my mother did not want to leave her city and The Residence at Melrose Station and LCB made that a reality. She has a beautiful apartment looking out over downtown Melrose, 3 wonderful meals a day, a delightful get together with the other residents before dinner, more activities than she can ever attend and the most wonderful and caring staff to help her with anything she needs!
The Residence is beautiful, clean and feels like one of the best hotels in Boston, but with all the warmth of a home! No expense is spared for the residents and they lack nothing! My mother lived alone for many years and I spent many a night worrying about her, but now I know she is in good hands. She stills has her independence to come and go as she wants and do as many or as few activities as she wishes, but there is always someone available to lend a hand if it is needed. It is the best of both worlds!

My sister-in-law stays at the residence at Melrose Station, and she seems very happy there. I think that the staff is always very attentive, kind, and nice, and I know my sister-in-law really enjoys them. She also really likes the activities they have there like games, Bingo, and movies.
