The Residence at Boylston Place
The staff at The Residence at Boylston Place is loving and caring. The facility is clean, updated, and cheerful. The size will be just right when they open up the new unit. For our needs, the facility is very well located. There is a lovely outdoor space. I very much like it as does my loved one, the resident. The meals are rather bland, but nourishing.

My mother was at Boylston Place for 5 years. We looked at many facilities and when we saw BP my mother immediately knew it was perfect for her. She gave a deposit that day. She was very happy there, made many friends and greatly enjoyed the staff and the car service. She never missed her weekly off site salon appointment. That made her happy. The location of BP is so convenient that her family and six great grandchildren could easily visit. The outside courtyard is beautiful, and we all enjoyed it.

My mother moved to The Residence at Boylston Place six months ago and is very happy. She adjusted to her new community easily. The staff at all levels is wonderful and immediately made her feel welcome in her new home. The food is very good with a wide variety. There are a couple of specials for each meal, as well numerous options that are available all the time. There are also flexible eating hours. The dining room is open all day until 7:00 pm. We looked at a few communities but liked The Residence because it is small. It is easy for my mother to get around and easy to get to know everyone. The rooms are very nice. There are activities to participate in if one is interested. It is a wonderful feeling not to have to worry about my mother knowing that she is settled in a caring environment.

My family would like to thank the staff and administration at the Residence at Boylston Place for providing a safe and dignified residence for our mother. The staff provided a kind and loving environment that allowed her a beautiful quality of life. On many occasions I was able to witness the interaction of staff and residents and cannot compliment them enough for their compassion. Gratefully, Kathy , Barbara and Mark

My Dad has been at Boylston Place for over 5-years, and it has been a place where he has enjoyed getting to almost 104 years old. While his health has deteriorated, his home at Boylston Place has provided him with a safe and comfortable place where he has been happy.

I am/was a resident of this facility I chose The Residence at Boylston Place because Josh, the CEO, and the staff that I met were very gracious and friendly. I felt comfortable with them. They have lots of interesting, varied, and age-appropriate activities. The food is farm-to-table and the vegetables that come with dinner are fresh, well-prepared and there are salads and fresh fruit. I've never had better food. The facility is bright. It has a bay window with a beautiful view of the sky and trees. It's also a good size. Not too small, not too big. They are friendly and efficient.

I visited this facility Wingate Residences at Boylston Place was a wonderful place. The people were great. That's not in our top three because it doesn't offer some of the things that we're looking for, but it is a wonderful place, and we liked it. The staff that assisted us were great. They were very welcoming, very knowledgeable, and very professional. It was great. The facility is beautiful. They pretty much are an independent living only place, and we're looking for a place that has independent living, assisted living and, if needed, memory care. The facility is really good.

I visited this facility I went to Wingate Residences at Boylston Place. It's opulent. The rooms are average. They said that they want people to be out of their rooms like 70 percent of their time and socializing more. It's very nice, it's upscale for sure, it reminded me of something like "The Great Gatsby," very expensive looking, old-time like the 1920s feel, but it's very classy. It's nice, and the personnel seemed fine. The tour person was lovely, she was very helpful, and she was like the head nurse, or something like that, and she wasn't really prepared to give the tour, because the guy who is supposed to give me the tour called in sick. She was unprepared for it, and a little discombobulated at first, but then she came around. She's a little cooler in personality, but she had the facts, which was important. I did not eat there, but it was a very nice dining area. They showed me a theater, and it was very nice looking. They had two people singing to music, it was like old-timer music, the ones older people like, and it was nice. It was live music during lunch hour or thereabouts.

Robert The Residence at Boylston Place
My mother lived at Boylston Place for 7 years and truly had an improved quality of life as compared to the period before she moved from her home. In fact, she had somewhat of a rebirth socially after her move. Due to not having to walk up and down stairs and being surrounded by a vibrant and diverse community of residents and staff. We looked together for a residence that would suit her. We found other residences to be somewhat institutional and impersonal. Boylston Place provided a safe environment with personal service. My mother also liked being in walking distance of stores and restaurants as well as having a car service available to transport her to appointments. I ate with her in the dining room on numerous occasions as well as in her apartment, when she decided to have food delivered from the kitchen. We were both impressed with the quality of the food and that she could order from a diverse menu. I have seen that the majority of meals are prepared from scratch, just like a fine dining restaurant. Boylston Place is kept very clean and weekly cleaning for resident's apartments is provided. Activities and entertainment are provided daily and are also varied. Both my mother and I agreed that the staff were very attentive when my mother was feeling sick or after returning home from a hospitalization. The staff always made sure that my mom would go to the doctor if there was a problem with her health. The facility has been very careful with restrictions and protecting residents during the Covid-19 pandemic. Overall, one of the most important aspects of assisted living, especially Boylston Place, is that residents are protected and observed daily for medical issues that could possibly lead to more urgent problems, and appropriate action is taken. For example, if my mother did not come to a meal she would immediately receive a phone call or someone would come to check on her. We both experienced the kindness, compassion, and goodwill of the staff throughout the years. It was always comforting to know that my mother was being watched over and cared for by people who felt like family.

Bich-ngan The Residence at Boylston Place
I visited this facility We toured Wingate Residences at Boylston Place for my parents. It was a very nice place. We loved it. The place was very upscale and looked like a hotel. It was very lovely with nice furnishing and pretty up to date. It was more towards the older people's taste with a lot of ornate stuff and old fashioned tapestry on the windows. Not like old and dusty, just the style is older. It was very clean, neat, and very well maintained. The rooms were nice and cute. It was good enough. They have good food and a big dining room and bar. The staff that gave us the tour was nice. We also met the head nurse and the activities director. Everybody was very nice. I asked for a 1-bedroom, so they took us to see two different ones: one faced the street and one faced the back. They have a courtyard. It's pretty much almost in the city, so there's not a lot of green space. Every floor has something like a small balcony court area. You could walk out. There would be a round table and two chairs so that you can sit outside. They have a theater room where they show movies. There was a little gym, which was next to where the nurses are. They have laundry on every floor. It's close to things like the mall, so it's got convenience. It's not out in an open space. I do think it's lovely. It was just pretty expensive. They do have a hair salon. They have 24/7 nurse help, which is very good to ease your mind. If something happened in the middle of the night, they are right there.

Vicki The Residence at Boylston Place
I am/was a resident of this facility I am a resident of Wingate Residences. They're excellent. The food is very good. They serve three meals a day. They do an excellent job. Somebody comes in once a week to clean, to mop the floors, and all that. The building is in good shape, they have a very nice dining room. So I don't have any problems living here. Before the weather was starting to get cold here they had a lot of concerts outside, and they had singers and things like that. They had a movie theatre here, but they're not using it because they have to socially distance people. They can't do that. The thing I've enjoyed most are the times that they have had mostly discussion activities where they've talked about different things; that appealed to me. There's a floor where there is gym equipment, I haven't used it, but I guess people do. The staff is excellent.

Max The Residence at Boylston Place
The best way to judge an independent/assisted living facility is how they manage during a crisis. Wingate Residences at Boylston Place has been doing a heroic job under incredibly fraught conditions. I witnessed this first-hand. While family was not allowed to visit, I was already residing in my mother’s apartment as my father had passed away two days before the COVID-19 lockdown. I stayed with her for 3-1/2 months to help her make the transition to living without my dad during a Pandemic. I could not have done this as rationally and cheerfully without the incredible people who keep Wingate going. The transitions that had to be made overnight were astounding, yet everyone, from the kitchen staff, to the activities department, to the wellness team made instant adaptations to accommodate every resident. I also want to acknowledge everyone at the front desk who fielded the abundance of calls from those of us calling from inside as well as outside. Everyone was and is professional, kind, caring, and supportive. My family and I could not be more grateful.

Mary Ellen The Residence at Boylston Place
There is so much I can say about Wingate at Boylston Place. Although my mom was there for a little more than 8 months, I want to acknowledge that Wingate is a very very special place for assisted living and independent living residents. The Kitchen and Dining Staff led by Patrick in Food Service were outstanding. The staff knew the likes and dislikes of the various residents' with regards to their food and diet choices. Josh Hammond, Executive Director, came on right before Covid and did an amazing job filling a position that is so much a challenge to control. His sensitivity and compassion are without a doubt essential traits in an ED in a health care setting such as Wingate. Joanne in marketing, Pam as Wellness Director and the entire Activity Staff are professionals and experts in the Assisted and Independent Living Resident population. The Housekeeping, CNA's, Maintenance and Front Desk knew everyone by name, making families feel secure in the safety and well being of their loved ones. The intimate and small setting that Wingate at Boylston Place provides helped my sister, Karen and I feel my mom was always well cared for in good times and tough times. Our lives improved as our choice for Wingate was the right choice out of all the facilities we evaluated. I would highly recommend Wingate at Boylston Place to any family who is looking for a perfect home for loved ones requiring the excellent service in all areas of living. Staff was always available and our minds were put to rest many a night and day when challenges arose.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident We chose Wingate Residences at Boylston Place for my mother because of the location. She wanted to be in Chestnut Hill, she also had a friend that was staying there, and it's a very nice facility. She's still too new there, but so far it seems pretty good. She likes the food. The room is nicer than most facilities that I looked at. It was one of the more expensive ones though. We got her a 1-bedroom. We had the option of putting her in a studio, but it was just too small.

The community is friendly and clean. We have been happy there and it was the right placed for my dad. The community is on the smaller size and because of this it has a nice cohesive felling. The concierge even knows who my dad is and it is a nice cohesive feeling when you walk in.
