What a find! The staff is so caring and careful with my loved one. She is safe and well cared for and very happy with all the activities that they have on the schedule. The place is small enough that everyone looks familiar which helps her and me when I visit.
I had a good tour experience with The Residence at Freeman Lake. The reason we did not choose this facility for our loved one was because it is a mix of assisted living and memory care residents, I was looking for a place that focused only on memory care residents.
Had a loved one here, was very impressed. Benny the food service director was great with all the special needs for her. Thank you.
What we really like about The Residence at Freeman Lake is the staff, they are amazing! The community has an incredible amount of various activities. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would absolutely recommend the community to other families .
The staff is excellent. They're generally very responsive. Upkeep in the facility is very good, and its very clean. The overall accommodations are nice. My loved one's room is quite spacious. While the whole industry is expensive, they're less expensive than others we looked into and seem to be on par for the Massachusetts area.
We recently moved my dad into The Residence at Freeman Lake. The process was made very simple and the employee very helpful and kind. He is enjoying his stay and the many activities he is participating in.

The facility is clean, welcoming, and my dad enjoys the food. They have many outside trips that he has the option to participate. in. I have noticed a huge change in his attitude...... I can't say enough.
We are very happy with the community right now, overall the experience has been really good. The staff is super friendly, and we really like the structure, décor and set up of the building,, which is also really.
This is a place that puts a smile on your face the minute you walk in. The staff is caring and show it with all they do for each resident. But it's the residents that give it the life it has. A great mix of people of all walks of life. Their smiles, laughter and happiness show me each day that life is worth living no matter where you call home.
Compared to other tours we took, The Residence at Freeman Lake facility was very cheery and open and the atmosphere felt comfortable. The staff were great and they offered 2 different levels of care here. It was just not the right fit for my loved one.
The Residence at Freeman Lake community is very clean and well laid out. The rooms are better then other communities we had toured, they were set up better and have nicer updated appliances. The care services are inconsistent at time. When we asked for a couple things to get done they might not get completed in a timely manner, sometimes medication isn't handed out at the same time everyday. We do understand given the circumstance with staffing it could be an issue but they could also improve on bettering their communication with families. We think they would really benefit if they had some sort of app or portal where families could check in daily to see what their loved ones have been up to. We have not had first hand experience with the meals or dining service but we have met the chef and she is great and we have heard other residents rave about the food. They have had some changes and interruptions and have interfered with the activities but all in all they seem to be really good.
My loved one is happy with the activities that the community offers. They have activities like church, cards, movie night, general get together and special activities like music outside with family.
Overall I like this community, I am just concerned with the cost and some things seem a bit excessive.
I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident
My mother was a resident of The Residence at Freeman Lake. It was excellent, the people are very good there, they're thorough, they're helpful, they're kind, and they're caring. I have nothing but good things about them. The rooms are well equipped, everything is there that is necessary to live, there are connections for TV, telephone, and closet space is good. The kitchen type area is good. We had to buy a small microwave, but everything else was there, the refrigerator was there and it was perfectly fine. My mother was having difficulty eating at that time. She did eat some of the food, and she said it was good.
We chose this The Residence at Freeman Lake because we were in a hot spot and they had availability and we really liked them after our tour. It is a very nice facility and I would recommend to others looking.
We were referred to The Residence at Freeman Lake under what I refer to as “crisis mode” in dire need of almost immediate assistance in placing my mom into a memory care facility. Upon entering, I was instantly impressed. The facility is lovely and has a nice homey feel. It is clean and welcoming. Then I met Laura and Landers and they couldn’t have done more to put my mind at ease during a very difficult time. They were so helpful and accommodating, guiding me through every step of the process from securing a room to moving Mom in and everything in between all in a matter of days. Since then, she has settled in nicely and the rest of the staff has been phenomenal. Mom is safe, happy, active and I can sleep at night again knowing she’s well cared for.
In general, a facility with very caring people that work there. They did a great job during COVID and kept most residents healthy and engaged. Unfortunately, it is getting quite pricey and there is some 'nickel and dimeing' for added on basic services.
They were cooperative, but I think they were understaffed. I know they were also struggling with low occupancy. But the care they provided and the people there were excellent. The food looked very good and well prepared. My loved one seemed to enjoy it. They made an effort to offer activities. The rooms were kept tidy, and the floors were always clean. I have no complaints whatsoever about how tidy it was.
I would tell others to definitely go here if they can. My loved one was able to transition well here. The staff are really nice to my loved one. Everything has been really good so far.
The food has been very good here. Everything I've seen seems fresh for the food.
I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident
My sister chose The Residence at Freeman Lake and she moved in. She likes it there. I usually visit her on the porch. Because of this COVID I stay outside. The food is very good, she likes all the staff, and that's a good thing. There are a few activities. They have a game day and an exercise day.
Freeman Staff impressed us from the first day! We had pulled in by accident at first looking for another community which we had an appointment nearby. But noticed how beautiful it was right away. After we went to our previously scheduled appointment we went back and tried calling. My phone disconnected the call, and I was not expecting to get a tour so last minute anyways. They called us back immediately to follow up. Even though we did not have an appointment Stephanie welcomed us with open arms for a tour. They even had warm freshly baked cookies waiting for us after the tour.
We knew that day Freeman Lake was the right fit for our Father. The place is stunning inside and out! Our experience surpassed our expectations. We cannot thank all the staff enough for the warm welcome they showed our Father. Even though his stay was sadly cut short due to his passing we highly recommend this community!
Although Mom did not go to Freeman Lake, we want to thank the staff for their great customer service, integrity and guidance. - Liz H.
